St James CC Nat West Bank

109-9

171-7
Draw 29th July 2006

Nat West ,as ever, aimed to outperform St James in all respects, initially by arriving before any one from St James had arrived.

They were welcomed by a football rap concert guaranteed to make batting and cricket watching an unforgettable experience. The game started with Nat West facing some good swing from St James and early wickets were arrested by the middle and lower order but despite every effort with a slightly light bowling attack the 150 target was passed and St James were chasing 171 after tea.A good opening attack put St James well behind the run rate and all batters were made to work hard for every run.Despite  fighting knocks from Adil,Robin and Mike ,an injured Aamir and the now rapping skipper had to block out for the draw ,fighting for elbow room with the 9 close catchers.

St James were heavily defeated in the bar 7-0 as the last of the St James socialisers made there way home leaving the drowsy barmaid and Nat West warming up the celebrations.St James plans for Beckenham 2007 are already in the making
